After working with all the Alcohol and wood gas stoves, thought it would be interesting to test out the old standbys. Yes, it's heavy - and the fuel is not as easy to find as wood or alcohol. But, the performance is impressive. 1.5 minutes from start to flame - then another 2.5 minutes to hard boiling 2C. of water. Still a favorite of mine.

  • ud pay 100 euro 4 that here

  • @ballygeale1 wow, that's outrageous...I wouldn't buy it for that much. What type of stove do you use?

    Thanks for watching!

  • monsterthug1952 is completely right, your not holding your finger over the hole when you pump wich is allowing the pressure to escape therefore your pressure build up is poor, but thanks for the video! it was good

  • @fordsrevive thanks for the comment, but nope, I hold my thumb over the hole. it leaks while its running.

  • Not a pressure loss he needs to keep his thumb over the hole in end of pump while pumping that will take care of the problem .

  • Great little stove. I'll order one on Monday. No way I'll get a deal like $20 though!

  • @hitachi088 great idea - I'll give that a try! - thanks!

  • @gerberboy0100 when its working properly, you pump before lighting, then when it first lights. Then you shouldn't need to pump again. The heat reflecting down from the pot warms the fuel - and increases the pressure (with white gas at least, different for kerosene) Thanks for watching.

  • @bbt95762 put it in a bath of water, pump it and check where the leak is.

  • @bbt95762 Did you try replacing the filler cap? The seal in the filler cap is usually the first thing to wear out.

  • @gerberboy0100 originally, I'd need to pump before I lit the stove, then a couple more times until it got hot. But now, need to pump the entire time - it's leaking air somewhere

  • how often do you need to pump it?
