This was the Wolf River Conservancy's annual Fall Trip. The Wolf River flows north from Mississippi through Memphis and empties into the Mississippi River. The Ghost River section is an hour from Memphis. There were about 10 people on the trip - 2 canoes and the rest kayaks (I highly recommend using a kayak for this trip). We (and anyone else who didn't have boats) rented them from Ghost River Rentals. It's a seven or eight hour trip with a group the size we had, and I think the course is 8.5 miles. There's virtually no current, so you're paddling almost the entire time. It's a good workout.
The Ghost River section of the video starts when the second song does - it's the cypress swamp area. Parts of it are more like a slalom course, where rather than paddling you're pushing off trees. There are lots of narrow areas where there's just enough space between trees for your kayak, so your maneuvering skills are really put to the test. I believe the Wolf River Conservancy does the trip on the first Saturday of every month.
