The Fur Peace Ranch is a music instruction camp and performance space founded by legendary blues guitarist Jorma Kaukonen and his wife Vanessa in the hills of rural SE Ohio.
Fur Peace Ranch is one of the premier instruction centers in the country for blues-based music. Aspiring musicians fly in from all over the world for the unique opportunity to learn from Jorma and the many top touring players who come to Ohio ready to impart the secrets of their instrument in a laid-back, nurturing atmosphere.
Fur Peace Ranch also hosts performances by the top names in blues, country and jazz in an intimate and informal setting. Recent performances have been featured on the syndicated Public Radio program, Live from the Fur Peace Ranch.

You guys have such happening laid back vibe, looks like a great place to learn. I only wish I was up to the challenge.....and knew more than 3 chords.....I also love the intermediate analogy of Jorma about himself, that about says everything I have been led to believe about the guy...modest, humble and real as it gets. Thanks for posting.

I would like to go to such a camp with my girlfriend (who plays guitar also, her band is called Indywheels by the way) to beautiful Ohio.
Only thing we've got no money and we live in the crowded Netherlands.
Evertime i see the beautiful countryside of the states (went 2 times there) i get homesick :-(

Heard a lot of criticism from friends e.t.c. about Jorma playing a Martin guitar ,and i tell them c'mon it's o.k., he is Jorma Kaukonen man,has earned the right to do whatever he wants,i mean he is the Captain..Me myself i don't like what this Martin thing became,a kinda of you know, a rich man's club,it's like the Bildenberg Club of Guitarists....And you know ,i kinda miss that picture of Jorma with his old Gibby on his lap on his rocking chair in Fur Peace Ranch's porch,it made me peaceful...

Just got back from Fur Peace Ranch for the first time. It was a fantastic experience. I would HIGHLY recommend any guitar player attend a camp at the ranch. Thanks Jorma, Vanessa, Marjorie, John, Brett and the rest of the staff at FPR for everything.

The "intermediate guitar player" reference is just an example of Jorma's modesty. He doesn't need to say he's a great guitar player, we all know his talents.

how can jorma call himself an intermediate player? Is that his way of saying he doesnt have as much natural talent as others? however maybe hes practiced and taught more. definitely very dedicated to guitar. nice video! seems liken great place the FPR.
