Top of the World: Nepal

The Sahara Club, based in Pokhara, which lies in the foothills of the Himalayas and is the principal town in West Nepal, runs an Academy for orphaned and disadvantaged children. It is a select project that helps 20-25 of the most under privileged youngsters and protects them from a life of crime and poverty. Nepal faces huge deprivation and lack of opportunity for young people, so projects like the Sahara Club enable them to find hope and a purpose in life. There is also a men's team, one member of which plays for the national team. We will speak to those involved in the project and hear how they have helped to turn scores of kids' lives around.
