WCW/NWO Revenge (Nintendo64 - N64) - Goldberg vs Rey Mysterio Jr.

WCW/nWo Revenge is a professional wrestling video game released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64 game console. It is the sequel to 1997's WCW vs. nWo: World Tour and would be THQ's last game for World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Like its predecessor, Revenge features AKI's revolutionary grappling system as well as heavily improved graphics, a championship mode, and a large roster of wrestlers (real and fictional).At the time of the game's release, the Monday Night Wars were starting to go in favor of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). Despite this WCW/nWo Revenge was generally recognized as the best wrestling game of 1998.
Revenge's main competition that year was WWF War Zone by Acclaim. In contrast to the simpler but more consistent visuals and accessible but slower play mechanics of Revenge, War Zone possesses more complicated controls, inconsistent collision detection, a lack of impact on grappling moves and occasionally awkward animations, despite having more refined character models and faster gameplay.
The Revenge grappling system is part of what ensured the game's success and popularity. The system was simple to learn and allowed for a variety of moves to be performed depending on the character. The graphics were improved from World Tour, and many new features were introduced to expand the popular series.As the direct sequel to World Tour, Revenge possesses various tweaks and additions. This includes wrestler ring entrances, a larger roster, ringside valets and managers, brighter more colorful graphics, a cartoon referee modeled after WCW referee Mark Curtis, and real TV and pay-per-view arenas. It also boasts EEPROM, which eliminates the need for a Controller Pak.[4] In addition, there are new gameplay mechanics such as more frequent reversals, the introduction of multiple reversals, tall wrestlers stepping over the top rope, and being able to run and slide in and out of the ring. Also, Instant Replay was included.

@jmi84 I like some of the new wrestling games smackdown vs raw 2010 and wwe 12 and smackdown vs raw 2006 and legends of wrestlemania for ps3 to me those wrestling games are alot of fun as well I don't get why people say smackdown here comes the pain is so great when the game in season the ai is very cheap.

@jmi84 I still have this game it is so much fun to play even in 2012 this game never gets old I pick sting alot in this game and kick alot of ass with him in it To me the best wrestling games are the 4 aki wrestling ones because to me they had the best devolopers and to me the 4 aki wrestling games are alot better than the overrated smackdown here comes the pain wcw nwo revenge is my all time favorite wrestling game ever made.
