  • Sure! This is one of the last steps of a really large scale plasmid DNA isolation, the precipitation in Ethanol. The clouds you are seeing is pure circular (supercoiled) plasmid DNA. On a smaller scale one usually can't see the plasmid DNA.

  • Ah, I get to do this tomorrow in a biotech lab. So exciting I have to look at youtube videos and anticipate. Definitely not your average everyday experiment.

  • HAHAHA, I wish my samples were that large in order to see spider-webs of DNA to which usually takes about 3-4 hours of preparation. Basically, what you see is the Plasmid DNA (supercoiled) of course which has been taken out of solution by ethanol precipitation... which usually includes phenol/chloroform-isoamyl alcohol/100% and 95% EtOH... this guy makes it look so damn simple
