Baghdad 90210 (part 2)

Imagine an Iraq where the mosques are replaced by malls, and the only thing keeping the teenagers up at night is too many frosted cappuccinos. This video, using a reappropriated script from an episode of "Beverly Hills 90210," satirizes the impending Americanization of Iraq. Set in the future Baghdad, the adaptation is centered around a school election gone wrong - paralleling last year's Iraqi elections. "Baghdad 90210" addresses cultural imperialism, and points out the absurdity of the United States imposing its ideals upon others. My goal for this video is to spark a discussion about the repercussions of neo-colonialism in the Middle East and beyond.
