Airborne school recruiting video and description of the course during the 1990s. Little has changed since, but C-141 aircraft aren't used anymore.

  • has anybody been able to find the video they show in the harness shed during jump week on youtube??

  • i really want to go airborne, but i am only 12

  • @DumbHonkie1 The jump school teaches you only one thing, jumping out of an airplane, nothing more. The real hard training of being a Paratrooper begins when you are assigned to an Airborne unit.Don't you ever get the wrong idea that the Airborne unit training is easy, because of the relative easiness of the jump school. Especially the training in the 82nd Airborne's Parachute(Airborne) Infantry Regiments is extremely tough. If you don't meet their standards, you will be sent a leg unit very fast

  • According to the statistics from the Department of Defense, the dropout rate at the marine boot camp is a very low 11.7% and according to the jump school, the dropout rate at the jump school is about 28%. So it is obvious to become a Paratrooper is a lot harder than to become a marine,

  • @DumbHonkie1 When I went to the jump school, there were 4 recon marines in my platoon. Two of the marines couldn't make it because one marine couldn't keep up with the runs and another marine froze at the door of an airplane.

  • Passing the jump school is the easiest part of being a Paratrooper. If you are physically in good shape and have no fear of heights, then you won't have any problem passing the jump school.. The real hard training starts when you go to an Airborne unit. The washout rate of 'cherries' at an Airborne unit is very high. If your don't meet your Airborne unit's standards, you will be sent to a leg unit very fast.

  • of course what you dont see in this vid when there pinning the jump wings on is badging ... what a shame i rather enjoyed pulling the pins out

  • I am gonna do this for for RASP and RIP

  • I'n in airborne school right now Week 1, day 3

  • What time period is this video from? 1990's?
