  • Brillant lecture, although AAT is about Homo (not apes or australopiths) & littoral is a better biological term here than aquatic IMO.

AFAIK anti-AAT "critiques" are irrelevant, misunderstanding, misrepresenting, illogical & invariably out-of-date.

For recent info, eg, google "econiche Homo" & "aquarboreal".

  • I took my Ph.D. at Brown University which I'm proud to say is a hard-ass school...but when there I was reading Morgan and trying to share it, and there was exactly the ignorant attitude that Morgan herein describes. Seen it elsewhere too. I never got any "straight answers" against her either. I am glad to see that she is beginning to win respect. Thanks again for this lecture---and to E.M.!

  • Thumbs up, if for fun you are more likely to go for a swim than climb a tree.

  • Yes, this is really very intersting and it's a pitty it only has 500+ views..

Please share it, I just did...!!

  • Brilliant therory...makes great sense. Sadly, just checking how many people have viewed this docu tells you everything..about the scientific community and the general public! ! One lot let their egos close their minds and mouths and the other lot have lost their minds and motivations to commercial infotainment!

  • maybe hoping for reasonable professionals is just too much to ask but hope she gets her wish, and in the meantime i'd like to get a hold of more of her books...

  • The aquatic theory is clearly substantial and I'm excited to hear about the idea of fusing the various theories into a common theory, as modern human ancestors likely passed through all sorts of environmental phases before and after the aquatic phase. I'd love to see this common theory become a focus in Elaine Morgan's lifetime. Happy to see she is still very sharp!
