I think America's fear of Socialism stems from a total lack of understanding. I wonder how many of the people who talk about the 'evils of socialism' have actually read a piece of Marxist literature. I'm a socialist because I believe that all individuals have the RIGHT to healthcare, education, housing and social security.
Under capitalism men can never be created equal as was envisaged by Jefferson. So I don't think that as socialist ideas go against 'american values'.
@TimeWarp66 That's a major part of why the Ponzi scheme has been able to sustain the facade of solvency. You can't even call a thing an "investment" if there's no return. What's worse is that if you think of social security as a contract between you and the gov't, it would be the ONLY contract you would see that ever allowed the one side to reneg, break, or change that contract without your endorsement or consent AND suffer no legal repercussions for the fact.
Actually American insurance companies as they are today are manly a product of crony capitalism, that is protectionism and favortism, which is just about as bad as socialism.
Lola...Your a dumb ass.It takes a Carter to get a Reagan.com

@TimeWarp66 "You're an ignorant Marxist twat."
I am a Marxist.
Ignorant? No Marxist is ignorant. In fact, Marxists are clued in to what is happening to a degree that dumb redneck whores-for-profit are not. Hardly?
Twat? That's a noun best applied to conservative whores for money such as yourself.
Get back to work, whoire!
