Let's Play Final Fantasy 8 079 - Tonberry and Cactuar

When you defeat your 20th Tonberry in Centra Ruins, the battle will instantly follow up into the Tonberry King! If defeated, you'll gain the Tonberry GF.

Once you have Tonberry, who needs a lot of AP to become really good, you can get good AP by fighting Cactuar. There's an island of them with a GF on it, but we can't get there yet... But, we can get close enough to fight some small ones!

how are people so strong as such low levels?? o.o im level 50 with squall but i dont hit that much >.<

@redmoon30 This Final Fantasy is not like the others - while you grow in power with levels, the real thing fueling your stats is Junctioned Magic. Assigning really strong magic at a low level, gained from either Draw or refining items (gained from battles or through refining cards).

Given that enemies level up with you in this game, staying at a low level with strong magic is typically better than grinding.

@RonPaulIsiah You mean Vitality? it improves physical resistance, Magic determines how much damage you do using some magic, and Spirit improves your magic resistance.

lol ya know you can get the Don tonberry card from zells mom in the begining of the game? xD i remember when i replayed the game not so long ago i got Don tonbery zell and biggs&wedge from her (was a real struggle you know cuz u only got bad cards in the begining xD)
