Explore the world of zebrafish research by touring the Zon
Lab at Children's Hospital Boston.

Richard White, M.D. shows how the lab is using zebrafish to research
blood stem cells, with the ultimate goal of developing treatments for
diseases such as melanoma, leukemia, and lymphoma. Zebrafish -
vertebrates like us - are particularly useful because their gene
functions are remarkably similar to our own. To see how stem cells behave
in a living animal, the lab has developed a transparent zebrafish called
Casper. The Zon Lab is part of the Stem Cell Program at Children's
Hospital Boston. To learn more about the Stem Cell Program, please visit
