  • I see your point, but the 35% for flush and 30% for straight are odds for after the flop and the flop already gave you two cards to help your hand. If you look at the odds squarely from the very start of the hand, it's easier to make a straight than a flush. Example (odds very slightly depending on suits): 5-6 unsuited is MORE likely to beat pocket aces (approx 18.5%) than J-6 suited (16.7%). Hope that makes sense...

  • I read a book called SECRET ADVANTAGES OF A POKER PRO and it has alot of great information on what you have to do to become a great player! it was definitly worth five bucks on amazon and barnes n noble. you can download it in seconds.

  • These odds are listed and explained better if you just type "poker probability texas hold em" into Wikipedia. Print out the page and stick it next to your monitor while playing online games. You'll soon know it all off by heart, and be able to decide whether it it is worth chasing that straight or flush that the flop is showing.
