The island of Spinalonga (official name: Kalidon) is located at the eastern section of Crete, near the town of Elounda. The island is the setting for Victoria Hislop's bestselling novel called "The Island". This video by camcorder club members Harry and Pat Lobley tells the island's history. Thank you so much for this video! before i read the book I wanted to visit Spinalonga, I just didn't want to go during the tourist season. Now that there is a tv series about the island it will be open for visitors all year round! I am leaving on the next boat! Thanks so much once again!
