How did you get to train him? I have two of them (male and female) and they won't even let me touch them.

This is very sweet. <3
I have a Rubino rosella. I'm a bit unsure of the sex but the pet-store staff told me that they are more likely to bond with a human of the opposite sex and my rosella is very cute towards me. He chirps happily when he sees me,"kisses" my fingers and lets me pet him. I also read that this happens when the rosellas see you as a "flock" member or mate. Which makes me believe my rosella is a male - however I haven't had him/her tested. Anyway very cute rosella you have there!

@nikolinio90
the only 100% way is by DNA sexing.
but females are said to have a white stripe under their wing and their colour to be a lil more muted than males. Their head and body positioning can also be a sign. but as i said the only 100% way is testing.

@MsNadir1
nope sorry she is female.
I originally thought male when we first got her but has since been DNA tested and her under stripe on wing and head shape also confirm female.

Interesting! I knew rosellas aren’t like the friendly ringneck parrots, lorikeets, cockatiels, lovebirds or something. Rosellas do not always adapt to life as a family pet and even hand-raised birds may never become fully domesticated. Generally, this parrot does not tolerate “petting” or “cuddling” and is apt to bite in response to this type of handling
