-
like this comment if you're a kid like me but you love old music

Pretty good playing from Gerry. The octave thing ala Wes Montomery at the start. Harrsion used this on early beatle recordings. Please please me, Me to you etc
-
I like both this version and the Beatles.

Is there anyone that knows how to play the intro the way he does it?
Or can someone post a TAB and not chords how to play it the way he does it in the video?

Oh dear,!! I should imagine most of these comments are written by folk who haven't got a clue about Merseybeat as it was . Gerry and the P.M.where a great, great live band, whoppin' sound with big amps ,all good muso's ,listen to the keyboard parts and fab bass lines . If you need tabs to this though , god help your musical ability,I 'd give up, 'er 8 chords,3 of them are quick passin ones.!!! anyway, a great band at the time .

i like this version...but i must say i like the beatles version better

@sixtiesforever1966 they didn't write this song, or most of their other songs. this song was originally written with the intention of having the beatles release it, but they wanted to release and original (Love Me Do).

14 people don´t know how to do it

@sixtiesforever1966 They were the first UK group to have 3 #1 singles with their first 3 records, but unlike the Beatles who were 4 different personalities they were basically just a group fronted by Gerry, the hits dried up after a couple of years and Gerry decided to go into light entertainment for a few years appearing in musicals and cabaret, he did forn a new group a few years later and they still tour the 60's circult.
I love these videos! Brings back a lot of memoriesI found a 60's set that seems really cool - it has Dusty Springfield, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Herman's Hermits and Small Faces - reelinintheyears(dot)com/britishinvasion
