They Can literally DOUBLE the WIDTH of the Train and increase Passenger Capacity ----
I mean they are building all the Tracks ---- Why not make its INTERIOR look Exactly like an Airplane ----- ????
Regular Airplane has 9 Seats in a Row --- with 3 Sets of 3 chairs

yes. its more of a tech-transfer project. Government paid big bucks to actually buy the technology. I am sure there will be more Chinese-made maglev trains in China.

The Beijing-Shaghai-HK line would have been amazing, but it got shelved. The transportation system in China is improving, but given the massive volumes (as per "Shanghai 1" video) the Ministry of Transportation still has a looooooong way to go. But really, it's difficult to compare anything in the world to China, maybe with the exception of India, and even then it's a stretch due to cultural differences.

I read yesterday in the news, that they want to extend it to the expo area and to Hongquiao Airport
pflo777 4 years ago
Various extension plans have been proposed. In January 2006, the Shanghai Urban Planning Administrative Bureau proposed an extension to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport via Shanghai South Railway Station and the Expo 2010 site, with a continuation towards Hangzhou. The plan for the extension to Hangzhou was approved by the central government in February 2006, but then shelved earlier this year (May 2007). The most probable project will be to the Hongqiao Airport and the Expo 2010 site.
