@ipbeest Did you have a pit orchestra? If you did where was it? And how big was the theatre? Instruments are a LOT louder than voices. Even just one. And if the orchestra pit is in FRONT of the stage, it makes it even harder to be heard over the instruments. It's not feasible to sing without a microphone in that situation without standing a good chance at blowing your voice.

It's so interesting to see this! Especially from Davenport! Cedar Falls High School is going to be performing Bye Bye Birdie this spring, and we are dancing THE WHOLE TIME THIS SONG IS GOING ON. LIKE WITH PARTNERS. And spinning, and singing. It's crazy. It's weird to see different productions doing this scene different ways.
