After kayaking up the creek that empties into the Pacific, about 15 miles south of Half Moon Bay, we put the bow in the wind and headed to the surf. There was an estruary of sorts behind a sand bar that allowed us to play around without too much trouble, although we did turn over. The tarpon 120 is a family/novice/beginner kayak, is a slushbox in the surf, is very difficult to turn quickly, making it too easy to broach-to and go swimming. Good thing we tied the paddle to the kayak. Sure was fun though!
