I just got the Nexus One this Friday (01/08/10) and decided to make some tests and comparisons against the iPhone (3GS) and the iPod touch (3rd gen).
Test1: Screen test. Nexus One sports 3.7" AMOLED display with 100,000:1 contrast ratio, while the iPod Touch equipped with 3.5" TFT-LED (no contrast ratio rating). Nexus One's screen out-shined the iPod touch with bright and vibrant color, thanks to the AMOLED display.
Test2: Speaker test. Both Nexus One and iPhone have somewhat moderate speakers quality, with Nexus One presented more crisp and clear sound but iPhone speaker is slightly louder but it suffers some sound deterioration.
Test3: Web page loading time. Both were on WiFi connected by Netgear WNR3500 N router with 10Mbps LAN. Nexus One support b/g/n wifi while iPod touch only support b/g wifi. However while loading engadget.com website the iPod touch out shined the Nexus One by more than 6 sec.

  • "Brick by boring brick" by Paramore

  • thats retarded the ipod was working off wifi and the google phone is working of your wireless provider .... so that test is bull

  • Nexus One FTW! I'm glad N1 supports Flash player UNLIKE the iPhone. It will probably take 5 years in the future until Apple develops a Flash player for the iPhone.

  • Your awesome for playing paramore!

Screen looks better on Nexus One though :P tbh i think it sounds abit better too :/

  • Could you say how much dB was that?(The nexus)

  • The AMOLED looks amazing. In real life.

  • Wow is the AMOLED screen from the Nexus one overcoloured? Or is it supposed to be like that?

  • thanks for the video mate..wanted to ask u how's the audio recording quality..does it use the 'Noise cancellation' mode while recording audio?

    thanks

  • @alchemistar Thank you.

  • A news claim than Nexus Ones AMOLED screen only uses 16-bit color...

  • Let it be known that the Apple products used in comparison were released months before the Nexus One. The iPhone 3gs was released in June of 2009 and the 2nd gen iPod touch was updated with the faster hardware from the 3gs in September of 2009 (there is currently no 3rd gen iPod touch). The iPhone and iPod touch used in this video are 6 months older than the Nexus One. In this day and age of technology, 2 quarters is a very long time.
