this is so perfect I just bought 3 boxes full of SU 6s about 10 of them and manifolds tons of parts and linkage , all for 40 bucks at the swapmeet I rebuilt two already and polished them like new,, to put on my midgets and my p1800 ,,your vids help so much im in SU heaven
very interesting.. I've watched quiet a few of your vids and you present very well. I have some twins on my mini and appreciate them a little more now.
They won't be spot on due to wear. Make sure You lightly oil on the outside of the pistons and the inside on the dash pot covers. The oil MUST level in the dash pots. As you might know there is lifting pins on SU carburetors so you can check to see if they fall close to or evenly. Also make sure the dash pot springs are the same length and not to stretched

I need to thank you.. all this time worrying about the previous owner mixing up the dashpots, and I never thought up a simple test like this.

John, Thanks for that information about the SU piston balancing. I may be a small trick but now thousands of people know it. Thankyou.

John,
But what do you do if just switching them doesn't make them close enough?
