  • ... An underrated American duo-piano team (they haiiled originally from South Dakota and Colorado), who concertized from the 1940s up to the mid-1970s. The Bolero was one of their "calling cards" along with Ravel's "La Valse", Copland's "Billy the Kid," and "The Poisoned Fountain" by Sir Arnold Bax.

    I saw W&L in concert with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra in about 1972, performing the Poulenc Two-Piano Concerto ... plus Dvorak and Richard Rodgers encores. Exciting stuff!
