@JasperJones8887 what's decibel overload?
-
oh ok well ive just heard it wasnt good for it. But yeah i can imagine how loud it is. ive had a 01 z28 with open headers and i only reved it to about 2k and it was still loud as shit!

It wasn't necessarily hard, but it depends on how experienced you are. There is nothing very complicated about it, a header install is pretty straight forward, just takes some patience. However, if you want to do cutouts like I did, that take welding and fabricating, which requires a bit of equipment.

needs more cowbell.

Well if I can do open headers and make it so I can flip a switch to open and close it thats what I wanna do. But if I can't do it there then I wanna do it at the midpipe. I just wanna make it louder and I heard open headers make it climb high end rpm's faster but the lower rpm's slower.
Is it bad to put cut outs like before the cats and cat back? That would basically be open headers and i know its not good to run a car with open headers...so is that bad?

@protoballa07 It's not necessarily bad to run a vehicle with open headers. I have no cats anyways, my rear O2 sensors are tuned out, and the car has been tuned, so no real negative effects aside from the decibel overload.

About how much did it cost for you to do this? I'm planning to get a trans am and do something like this.

What exactly do you plan on doing? I added cutouts to my Kooks midpipes, because I did longtubes a while ago. For just the cutout valves and flanges to hook everything up, you will probably spend about $400, but then I had the cost of the connection pipes, stainless steel tubing, and hours of fabrication work on top of that.
