@cleanplasticchild - dead beat??? I stand by my statement; Conners' made tennis what it is in the USA.! Love him or hate him, he was what he was. For the most part, tennis in the early to mid 70's was considered an elitist sport somewhat like golf. Conners was the the dirt of the earth. He grabbed his crotch in disdain when he lost a point he felt he shouldn't have (the hell with giving a hand to his opponent on these points) He said he "hated to lose more than he loved to win." I loved him...

MAc and Connors carried tennis for 2 decades. It would never have been what it is today without these two men
