Decent-enough shooter, kind of like Halley's Comet or Tac-Scan in which you can add other ships to your original ship. But here you can change the formation of your ships, giving you a wider shot. Both ground and air targets fire at you, and you fire and bomb at the same time. Nice view of Japanese cities below you as you scroll vertically, but the soundtrack is pretty grating IMO. A single boss ship appears on occasion but you have a very limited time to destroy him before he flies away. A fairly simple game, but very playable for its time.

  • Hello, I've used some of the footage from this video in a remix I've made for the first stage song. Which is pretty much the song for the whole game. I hope you don't mind.

Take a look and tell me what you think =)

  • @falktrue Very nice! Good techno mix, I can see people dancing to this at a nightclub.

Sure, you don't have to ask permission to use my videos. I'm flattered people would want to use them for anything!

    Good work!

  • I was hoping that this game would be on either volume of Taito Legends for the PS2.

  • @TimelordR

From what I've read it is on the first Taito Legends.

  • @crazyclimber80 I can confirm that, as I own it.

  • @NinjaGhostScorpion

Cool! I just bought Aero Fighters 3 for my Neo Geo cabinet, another great shooter.

  • decent enough ? you people are crazy...this game is totally godlike

    toaplan ftw

    oh,and it's "scramble formation"

  • @crazyclimber80

Agreed. I played this back in the day. The music - though repetitive - was still pretty exciting for an 80's shooter. Though I prefer the 194x games by Capcom, this one holds a special place in my heart since it was the one game I was good at.

  • @L0g4nWyl3

For 1986, it IS a decent enough shooter. I don't really like the music but the gameplay mechanics aren't bad. You're entitled to your own opinion, but don't say I'm lying if I call it a decent enough shooter. Respect my opinion and I'll respect yours.

  • @kingjoe178

Good for you. Get MAME32 or MAMEUI version 120 or so, and record your own movie. I'm not nearly good enough to get through the whole game without cheats. I suppose if you wanted a video of the game played through WITH cheats I could accommodate.

  • a terrible video game. to call it a decent-enough shooter is to lie.

  • I WANT FULL MOVIE

  • Hi Saikorebon.

If I were to pick my favorite Taito game it would be a toss-up between Bubble Bobble, Puzzle Bobble/Bust-A-Move and Space Invaders '95. But Tokio was pretty good for its time.

I like your Time Gal videos. I used to have the Sega CD version and I loved it!

  • oh yeah they have this on Taito Legends. I need to play this again. XD
