Here comes the last 1.00pm train!
Today - 30 June 2011 - is the last day of operations of the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station. This is the last outbound afternoon train, filmed from an overhead bridge in Ghim Moh. The train was scheduled to depart at 1.00pm, but it was obviously delayed as it only reached this location at about 1.45pm.
The final outbound train from Tanjong Pagar, scheduled for 11pm tonight, will be packed with returning KTM staff and will be helmed by the Sultan of Johor himself.
KTM trains were familiar sights and sounds for residents living in the Ghim Moh area. The departure of these trains mark the end of an era in Singapore's transportation history.
