This version of the Via resti servita duet didn't cut it for me. I like Marcelina to be a mezzo soprano who sounds "old" and "fat" (and is chubby or is wearing a fat suit). The duet really works it's hilarity with a very funny Marcelina, such as Felicity Palmer. Most Marcelinas are just serviceable. Nucci Condo & Ileana Contrubas look like sisters (with Condo being the older sis), they have similar hair/faces/skin.

This is the very best version I've ever seen. Two lovely voices, and great attention to the comedy.

Maravilloso. Cotrubas, como siempre, fantástica. En esta producción todos están extraordinarios, pero ella, Te Kanawa y Frederika von Stade son para morirse.

Hahahahahaha! This has got to be the cattiest pair I've ever seen. The curtsies are hilarious, and so is the end.

I love this entire opera, but especially this scene. The "curtsy war" is hysterical! I'm actually playing Marcellina in a production next month. I want to play Cherubino the next time I do this, though. Such a difference!
