In this strange clip from the unsold TV pilot "What Do You Want" (1961, later the partial basis for "Tell it to Groucho"), the show-announcer, George Fenneman tells potential sponsors about the shows title was perfect for advertising purposes. This pilot of course was not broadcast, and it is amusing to see something that would not appear in the final telecast. Also interesting to see the studio audience...
The clip is quite short though.
Yes, this was an unaired "audition pilot" for potential sponsors- which finally appeared on CBS as "TELL IT TO GROUCHO" in January 1962 (without George Fenneman, who was too identified with "YOU BET YOUR LIFE" to appear on this series; he did this as a favor to Groucho and producer John Guedel). However, the new Groucho series lasted only a few months [opposite "DR. KILDARE" and "MY THREE SONS"].
