I'm really surprised you got such wonderful results with a 50% peroxide. I had been looking at using peroxide and dismissed the idea, as I was told, obviously incorrectly, that I would need 70%. Beautiful results guys.

how long is the burning time? cant you make a bigger rocket with more engines and reach space?
-
Wait!!!! wont it come back down???
-
What were the tanks made out of to keep the pressurized system so light without being corroded by the H peroxide?
-
Why would you put your car near that thing

Yep 73deg C.. make sure you have PVC gloves & splash guard (face). Have heaps of demineralised water on hand to dilute any spills. Use only well cleaned pyrodex beakers for the evaporation. If you have to insert a tempreture probe or the like use only stainless steel & make sure you wash everything down with the demineralised water, then pre-expose (treating) to the low concentration peroxide first. General Kenitics website is a good source of data on HP handeling.

73 Celsius, right? I don't wanna blow myself up...

Just get hold of 30% food grade stock and evaporate off the access water, don't take the temperature above 73deg though as peroxide vapor can detonate. You can get the peroxide up to 85% purity by this method, which is much better for rocketry purposes.. Make sure you read everything you can on using peroxide first, as it reacts violently with contaminants such as dust, rust & organic materials.

@originalrhombus the library? what's that? Google is the modern way...
That was awesome! I'm guessing that you were either using LOX and Ethanol or LOX/RP-1 or some low cost form or did you use LOX/LH2? either way great video. How much did it weigh too with its turbopumps regulators hoses tanks, etc.? How much thrust too?

Our Liquid Fuel rockets (17 actually flown including this one) use 50% Hydrogen Peroxide (with 50% water) as Oxidizer with Methyl Alcohol fuel. These "Pressure Fed" systems have no pumps. This rocket weighed about 10 pounds empty, 20 pounds with fuel and the motor produced 60 pounds of thrust. Note that the "rumble" in the sky during the flight was real and typical of these rockets and motors.
