  • @Hanspeter1809 such a nonsense. we r the same tribe, but austria as nation existed long before germany

  • @WeThePeopleOnline the other was a Prussian dominated Germany which would include all of the German states with the exception of Austria. As the answer to this question suggests, the latter came into being, although early on most Germans preferred an Austrian dominated Germany.

  • During this time there was an overwhelming drive for a unified Germany within the German states and because of the balance of power within Germany, two different concepts of unification came into being. One was an Austrian dominated Germany which would include all of the German states,

  • @tiroltourism While much of Austria is historically, ethnically, linguistically and culturally German, it isn't actually a part of the nation Germany. Traditionally, Austria is actually seen as the leader of the German states. It officially lead the German Confederation after Napoleon's defeat and his dissolution of the First Reich, and played a crucial role in furthering German integration and possible unification.

  • @tiroltourism And Austria is Germany!
