wow!! I've been trying to find out how to do this lap-tapping style after listening to Gilmore and Roberts' Fleetwood Fair, and came across this! It's brilliant. Well done!

ahaha thanks dude, i can actually play this much better now, i started trying to learn this in april of 2009, and this was posted in october of 2009
don't be intimidated if you are trying to learn this. I promise you that anybody can learn this with enough practice. If you stay persistent and don't give up, you can due pretty much anything you want.

i can play this song almost perfectly regularly but when i tried it on my lap i was totally lost. great job!

hey thanks man. I can play it just about perfectly in my lap, but when I try to play it in the standard position, i make tons of mistakes!

i guess i just put my guitar in an open tuning (in this case, DADGAD), and then i tried to watch what guys like eric mongrain and andy mckee. A lot of it is hammer-ons and pull-offs, as well as natural harmonics.
Just try it and experiment I guess
