Delivering industry-leading reliability takes commitment, investment, innovation and, sometimes, a helicopter full of elite, acrobatic linemen. In February 2010, FPL completed its replacement of insulators on on the Martin-Poinsett 500 kV transmission line, the culmination of two years of upgrades on the power line and a crucial milestone in its 15-year plan to upgrade its 500 kV infrastructure across Florida.

  • Your companys 500kV angle structures are awesome looking!!! I can't wait until I graduate line school in December so I can do what I've always loved ever since I was a kid - being around power lines!!!!!!

  • It takes a lot of nerve to hang from a long line, but it takes nerves of steel to fly with the precision and skill demonstrated by these pilots. Espesially in the MD helicopters. No special "Stability Augmentation". It is ALL pilot holding that helicopter steady. A gust could swing the load into the pole or wire.

Next time you show a helicopter in one of your viedos, introduce him to your viewers. He is as much the star as the crew. In fact, you guys wouldn't be there without him.

  • This is absolutely awesome and I'm glad to find this on YouTube!

We owe so much to the courage of others.
