  • When Gillan left Deep Purple he should have been replaced by Glenn Hughes alone!

  • What a great clip. He looks gorgeous there.

  • hahahah his voice is so high he sounds like one of the bee gees and in my opinion it took glenn and david to match the power of ian gillan ian is the best deep purple singer in my opinion because he had more range in his voice

  • glenn was like "I was named after bla bla bla..." and the tv-host was like "ohoohhoohh aahaaaooh" :D

  • best dp singer

  • Coverdale and Glenn thrust Purples and they gave to group the real sensation of Soul &Blues. This video is very nice but where is Drummer.

  • I love you Glenn

  • What I take from this show is that Japan treats their musical stars with much more deference that we do here in America. The quick little demonstration of his vocal abilities quickly established why Glenn is the real thing, and not some wannabe. Glenn's latest band Black Country Communion is out there flirting with success, maybe he will be the comeback kid?

  • @Aristotelezz yeah, one or another.

for techically challenging songs like DP's he would perform worse trying to do both at same time ;-)

  • @Ann0ynimouse Hughes sings as well as he plays bass. So he could have done both. Coverdale may be a good singer but not for Deep Purple.

  • @tariksba screw 'em!

They could choose any other timing, but instead they ruined the very top moment :-E

  • @Aristotelezz hmm... then who woulds have replaced Hughes on bass ? :-)

At least Coverdale was gifted a chance and he made nice song in 80-ies after that :-)

And anyway, Hughes DID replaced Gillan a bit later, in some another band out there :-D
