  • Hi was wanting to know on a light switch for the bathroom. A dual light switch that one turns on the light and the 2nd one turns on the fan. I replaced the old one because the old light switch switch was loose when ever youd turn it on and off. But when I put the new one on. Both light switches when turned on turn on the light and the fan. Was wondering what I did wrong? Or if I got the wrong dual switch to replace it? Thanks.

  • @pezmaner1 You mite of installed the wrong one. Those types of switches can be tricky. However I would say you'll need to pull it back apart and take a closer look at your wires.

  • You are a good Elctricain.

  • @Learnthethingsido Gee Thanks, LOL... I have been doing it for a while now.. Thanks again.

  • Yea I see that. It's still loading. It's a HD video, perhaps I need to switch back to a lower res.

  • Hey, Dominick, thanks for your help. This was a great DIY video. I was concerned about connecting the wires to the correct terminals on the switch. Now I know it doesn't matter. Thanks again.

  • this is gonna sound weird. I live in a fairly remote area and only get into town from time to time, so sometimes I have to improvise. The trigger switch on my Milwaukee chop saw went out, and I tried to replace it with a light switch (yes, like the wall switch in your home.) When the switch is on, the saw starts running immediately of course, but when it is off, the circuit pops immediately upon plugging it in. Why won't this switch work as a replacement? Yes, I do have a ground wire hooked up.

  • One question, don't know if you'll see this or not. Is there anything inside the physical switch itself that could go bad and warrant replacing it or is it worth to check if any of the connections have gotten loose first?

  • Thanks, this was the most help out of the "replacing light switch videos" in my opinion.

  • God I got scared of the electric sound at about 1:30

  • Thanks Dominick. I have watched a few of your videos and they are all very clear and to the point. My light switch in the bathroom broke last night, and I had it replaced by this morning thanks to your video.

  • clear. very good

  • Thanks Dominick this was a really helpful video
