To directly compare George Best with players of today is to make a fatal mistake in your argument. You cannot directly compare by saying defending was rubbish, goalies weren't as good. In 2009 skills may not look as amazing as the legend indicates he was. Best helped take the game to the next level. That is why defenders look ordinary beside him!Those who grew up watching him (like Maradonna) copied him! How good would George best have been if he was young now??THE BEST.

It is a fact that todays players are nowhere near as good as players of the future in 40 " its jusr a guess of yours. and also always in things comes a time when they reach their peak and cant be any better..{only very little slow changes happen}and in this case is football in my opinion..and i cant make comparison how he would be if he would born today because simple i DONT KNOW how he would be..the difference is my comparison is that i have two real things

@ftlptba And finally. It ook me 4-5 comments to understand you? Read my FIRST comment. I said that it was a mistake to try to make DIRECT comparisons with players from different generations. This shows I understood your original comment. I certainly don't agree with it either. Not having seen Best challenged by modern defenders (this would be a 'guess' on your part) I keep an open mind as to how he would have handled them. His real talent after all was his creative genius.

If you put them into the future football leagues 40 years from now they would not even make it pro then, because the game will have advanced and changed so much. Its the way of sport. Everyone knows that. You did not educate anyone on that point. But i see that at least now you admit he was great.

@dare2winitall man i know how great best was and what he has done.. if he was now young when HIS THEN SKILLS he would be nothing ,thats what u cant understand ,only if he reborn and learn his football again step by step in this modern time he would be great also here too...but i said over and over again that this player i see in this video today wouldn't even make it pro,because the game has developed since then 100%in all fields!

@ftlptba Apart from the fact that you were rude in your reply - which is not necessary, You misunderstood the point i was making. Your comment in brackets shows this. Where you say (his then skills). The point I was making is that his skills would have been much better if he was a young player NOW. Get it? A players skills are influenced by what he sees himself as youngster. He copies his heros and then adds to it as he develops. George best took the whole game in this country to a new level.
