Left 4 Dead, No Mercy 5 Rooftop Finale, single player on expert difficulty. After a short intro, gameplay starts when I call for rescue. No Mercy 5 on expert is difficult even for experienced players. Single player, the AI survivors react poorly to special infected, especially tanks, and will not hide in closets. In the video I show how to lead the survivors into a useful defensive position, the stairwell, using the orders "Come here!" and "Hurry!" I also show some useful placements for gas cans if they are available. The tricky parts are to lead attacks against the tanks without getting incapacitated yourself so you spare the bots, and getting them back to the stairwell quickly after the first tank, because they tend to ignore orders once the horde arrives. Please excuse the poor quality of the footage even at HD; I play on a 2.8Ghz P4, which is below the stated system requirements of 3.0Ghz, so I lose a lot of visual effects like dynamic flashlight shadows, and Fraps drops my FPS from 18-24 to around 8-15.

  • Is it safe to put AI's in a game?

  • Survivor AI's are reliably dumb. They make stupid mistakes, but they almost always make the same stupid mistakes depending on the difficulty level, and you can get used to playing with them. They also don't cause friendly fire in most instances, which is a mixed blessing. They don't ragequit or teamkill, but after playing with only bots a lot, I found that when I went back to co-op games I was prone to running across other player's lines of fire and getting myself shot.

  • The orders only can do in PC?

  • I haven't played the xbox 360 version, so I don't know how the controller works. I just looked up the Left 4 Dead xbox 360 manual, and it looks like you may be able to issue orders using the "vocalize" command. Apparently the left analog stick will switch to vocalize mode if you hold it down. I'm not sure if that works, though. On the PC version there are two different sets of commands, one for orders and one for general communication.

  • its way easier on pc than xbox 360

  • Yeah, I don't know how xbox 360 players play shooters at all without a mouse.
