Stay with me awhile
Rise above the vile
Name my final rest
Poured into my chest
Into the orchard I walk peering way past the gate
Wilted scenes for us who couldn't wait
Drained by the coldest caress, stalking shadows ahead
Halo of death, all I see is departure
Mourner's lament but it's me who's the martyr
Pledge yourself to me
Never leave me be
Sweat breaks on my brow
Given time ends now
Into the orchard I walk peering way past the gate
Wilted scenes for us who couldn't wait
Drained by the coldest caress, stalking shadows ahead
Halo of death, all I see is departure
Mourner's lament but it's me who's the martyr
Spirit painted sin
Embers neath my skin
Veiled in pale embrace
Reached and touched my face
Into the orchard I walk peering way past the gate
Wilted scenes for us who couldn't wait
Drained by the coldest caress, stalking shadows ahead
(Release your grip, let me go, into the night)
Halo of death, All I see is departure
Mourner's lament but it's me who's the martyr
Steve Wilson produced this album and another with Michael Akerfeld that is to be released. This is by far one of the best Opeth albums by far. The mixture of pleasure/pain anger/happiness. It really is an all encompassing album. One of the best by far. \m/

It`s an insult to Opeth to even remotely imply they in any way resemble a relgion.
Fuck You.

@ZTOID
I think it was Steven Wilson. Not sure though.

Anyone knows who did those backing vocals? Sounds like a female. VERY beautiful.

I love it. Opeth music s always so wonderful and indsightful.
If music is a religion, then Opeth is one of the biggest Gods around there.
