What MJ means is that when performing, you shouldn't count you should feel. It is useful during training though as many locking moves have very precise counts.

Why is he counting? Didn't Michael Jackson and Jeffrey Daniel always say that counting is the worst thing a dancer can do? Counting implies thinking. Music should be about feeling.
