@sargeantbanana~ well then clearly they are "stand off"!
BTW, direct injection is in-cylinder fuel injection, like many diesels run. Very high fuel pressure and "piezo" injectors.

@marek0086 It's when the injector sprays gasoline before the throttle body instead of in the intake. The opposite would be direct injection where the injector is in the inlet pipe, almost on top of the valve.
Stand off injection isn't usable on the street. It's more effective in high RPM naturally aspirated engines since it provides a better mix of the air/fuel mix (better fuel vaporisation).
In the video you can see the injectors hanging on top of each throttle body, from the fuel rail.

@sargeantbanana~ whats stand off injection?

buenisimo ese motor

beautiful... never knew those had stand-off injection. Or am i mistaken?
-
Is that not the whole engine and not just the engine block?

I never forget the sound of this engine.. it was INCREDIBLE. If i remember correct it was last V12 engine in F1. I want V12 back!
-
@stlchevy95 i can guarantee you they spray the exact amount no more no less for perfect combustion each time. and no they do not waste fuel. google the effects of changing the air/fuel ratio mate
