  • He's great to be able to play it that fast, but it's just too fast. It's one of those songs that's meant to almost put you to sleep until you listen to how awesome the guitar work is.

  • There are no rules, Alirio Diaz plays it faster even. It is a dance, not nessesarily for geriatrics!

  • My Father, who was a great player when he was

alive, had a record by Chet Atkins titled Caribbean Guitar. As a young boy I would listen to this song and marvel at Chets abilities. Now as a professional musician for 40 plus years I finally SEE someone play this incredible piece and do it justice! Bravo

  • Thank you so much for your kind comment. Tim

  • This is a great piece of music played really well cant wait to learn this !! do you have tab?

  • Hi I don't have tab for this, but it's real name is "vals criollo venezolano no 3" by Antonio lauro. It is readily available in notation form, together with other venezualian valses by the same composer. The name mayan dance was first coined by Chet Atkins when he recorded his version. My arrangement is somwhere between the Chet Atkins version and the original piece as written by lauro.

    Thanks

    Tim

  • I'm just saying that it has a certain mood in the original form. It just feels different is all. I mean, rarely do you see people say the original Knockin on Heaven's door is better, but it certainly had the mood set better.

  • Superb arrangement. 5*****

  • Tim,

I am desperate to get my hands on one of these, I have been looking for another guitar but nothing I've tried compares to my Grand auditorium by a long way. Even Don Alder commented on my myspace and asked if I was playing a Lowden as it sounded so good.

    Let me know Tim PLEASE

    Dave

  • EXTREMELY good job! I've never heard it played this well!

  • EXCELLENT!!!!!!!
