Recently while singing this hymn, it was as if I had never heard it before and this verse struck me anew (paraphrased):

If we had as much ink as the waters of the ocean and enough parchment to cover the sky and every stalk or branch on earth was a pen and every man a writer, we would run out of ink and run out of room in the sky before we finished writing the extent of God's love.

Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." This song is one of the most beautiful testaments to the love that God has for us. It has always been a favorite of mine ever since I heard my pastor's wife sing it one night for the song special at church with her lovely voice. It brought tears flooding down my cheeks then, as it still does today. God really does love you and me. Thank you, Sesamonte. Your songs are the best! Amen.
