C-Dorys do seem expensive to less or unexperienced boaters but you get what you pay for.
There is a reason they have such a loyal following of experienced boaters. We prefer strength, reliability and seaworthyness over cheaply made boats with lots of systems and features that break down.
Think about it. A simple, strong boat that holds it's value better than Bllue Book.
Or a bigger boat that cuts so many corners that even with all those features it costs less.
@festyxfi The boats priced around here in Oregon are to high I think. The new ones are really to expensive and that is what I was talking about. After researching boats for me I chose a 1979 Bayliner Contessa, 28 foot, Full kitchen, full bath with stand up shower, hot water tank, full stateroom with a queen bed for $15,000.00 with 300 hours on a complete rebuild with receipts in bristol condition. The C_Dory is a cool little boat but just to expensive for what it is.
@mnstrbassplyer1 I would like to know more about why you feel this way. Are you just talking about buying new? I got an 89 22-cruiser for approx. 17K w/ honda 90/10 4-strokes. Unless I've missed something in my research, no other boat like the CD could be found in that price range, not to mention the MPG's they're able to pull due to shape/size.
Way to expensive to buy. Im surprised anyone would spend that kind of money for such a small boat when you can get something twice the size and comfort for what you pay for a c-dory. Not worth it at all...
