  • I do spray them with sugar water. I find that to be more humane than smoking them. The sugar water works well most of the time but they can still get pretty aggravated depending on what you are doing.

  • its great to see new beekeepers getting excited about their bees. top bar hives are great for the small gardener. Congradulations!!! and in anser to RobLeepopart they didn't sting her for two reasones. one they were probably a dossile strain of bees and two, bees are only aggressive when they feel they have to defend their home. as they don't have a home right there and then they have no need to get defensive.
