∞SEMIOTICS - Multimedia Performance

∞Semiotics is a multimedia performance combining parallel elements of layering in both a video projection and a live performance. The performance begins with a blank screen in the background and a blank sheet of glass in front of the performer that progressively gets filled with writing. Writing on the glass begins with words echoing lyrics in the music until it trails off into spontaneous writing. From stream of consciousness associations the process turns into an automatic writing that progressively disintegrates into symbolic forms, until it becomes pure gesture, while the randomly found and generated signs and symbols in the background layer until both the blackened screen and glass overshadow the performer, who becomes lost between two streams of information.
