Some video tips to go along with my tutorial at Halloweenforum.com on how to make my version of the Beloved Tombstone. Beloved was inspired by the how-to found at hauntedwebby.com.

She is made with a chicken wire body form, a wig stand foam head, wig, wedding dress, pink styrofoam, monster mud and Drylok. A tutorial can be found here: http://www.halloweenforum.com/album.php?albumid=592

A question and answer thread can be found here: http://www.halloweenforum.com/halloween-prop-building-group/76644-project-3-t...

  • Hi Terra. Yep, I'm on Halloween Forum, been lurking for quite a while, finally joined. Hoping I get my tax refund soon, so that I can join Hauntcast too! :)

  • @Toddandjenniplus3 Oh sweet, say hi over there and I'll be sure to get you on my friends list and it would be great to also have you become a Hauntcast Minion :)

  • Love this tombstone! I saw one last year in a yard haunt, and have been wanting to make one since. Have a dress and a wig head just gotta get the rest of the supplies. Maybe after I get done with my life size Jack Skellington. :D

  • @Toddandjenniplus3 Oooh, love Jack. He's such a cool Halloween icon. Not sure if you know about the tutorial thread for Beloved at halloweenForum. Give me a holler if you need a link.

  • is there monster mud on the tomb stone part also or just the lady?

  • @copburner No, just the lady.

  • @HHN4U Adobe style will need more thickness so I recommend using a monster mud smear. Monster mud is joint compound mixed with latex paint. Usually 5 to 1 ratio. But, in your application I would go for a more flexible version like 4 to 1 or even 3 to 1. See my 'Griming props' video to see the effect you'd get. If you want to get the sandy look that adobe has, also throw in some sawdust or sand.

  • @Scaryladyvideos I am planning on putting it on walls to make it look like adobe for my La llorona theme next year. Will it flake off like joint compound does have a tendency to do? If it does concrete is the alternate route.

  • @HHN4U Absolutely! Check out the Blackbeard tombstone video and you'll see how similar the color and texture is to concrete.
