Do you know that yesterday an islander born in Malvinas, son of an islander who fought in the conflict of 1982, became an Argentine citizen? He was born in the islands in 1968 and he applied for the argentine nationality since he is an argentine citizen like all islanders. One day we will celebrate all together.

What the Islanders want,the people that actually have to live there matters.
They been there for over 200 years so I guess they get to say who runs THEIR island.
I know Democracy's,freedom of speech deals a new concept to Argentines but thats the way we roll in the UK.

the Malvinas aren't a nation and have no right to self-determination; should Muslim areas of Bradford be allowed to join Pakistan if they wish? The Malvinas were seized by force by Britain in 1833 and the colonists who live there have no right whatsover to 'opt out' of Argentinian jurisdiction. The UK's stance is hypocritical when you consider the population of Diego Garcia, who were forcibly deported from the island by the British government. Not much respect for self determination there!

to those to young to know or have wore DMS boots!
DMS= Direct Moulded Sole
Brit Army boots issued very late 1957
this was a traditional leather ammunition boot, except, the sole was rubber, and was directly moulded to the leather making the boot semi waterproof,,with DMS a soldier would wear a size larger, to accommodate a nylon, highly perforated platform, within to allow air to circulate under the sole. keeping sweaty feet dry! needless to say 95% of squaddies binned them, Bad Move

DMS were the name of the boots issued to British service personnel at the time of the Falklands. They took ages to dry out once wet and tabbing across the Falklands the boots got saoked and many soldiers suffered terribly from foot problems myself included.
appartently not son! the union jack and 2000 British troops ensure that the "malvinas" are defininately NOT argentina's!

The Argentines did not have F4 Phantoms, but the smaller light attack aircraft the A4 Skyhawk, a totally different plane! (Also it's spelled exocet, while i'm at it)
