  • The forward bending and the static extension are for warming up the back muscles?

  • @flyer203 - Yes, as the back and the hips need to work together, these exercises help get the "hip hinge" to work under the back and help keep the back interacting with this function. Both also get the shoulders and upper back working together to prep the arms & shoulders to shock absorb (hopefully just from the handlebars and not from a fall!)

    I just bought a new bike after 6 months with no rides at all and after my first

    ride I had terrible pains in the lower of my back because I didn't warm up.

    A back sack that I were carying seem to have worsted the impact of the

    cold exercise.After the second ride and after I saw the video I am fine.

  • @flyer203 AWESOME! I do them before I go out riding as well (along with others I do regularly to keep my posture & function on track). I used to get really tight and sore in my low back when I would go on long rides with a lot of climbing involved. Now, I don't even think about it... I'm just keeping my heart from pumping out of my chest!
