Born in 1967, Reenat Fauzia, a noted Sitarist, daughter of Mobarak Hossain Khan, a distinguished musicologist and litterateur, and a renowned Surbahar artist, and Fauzia Khan, famous vocal artist, comes of an internationally renowned famiy of musicians of Bangladesh.
She is the granddaughter of Ustad Ayet Ali Khan, the maestro of Music of the sub-continent, who was the youngest brother of Ustad Allauddin Khan, the world reputed Maestro of Seniya-Maihar and Alauddin Gharana of Music, belonging to village Shibpur, district Brahmanbaria. Reenat Fauzia was born in this famiy of a rich tradition and culture of music, where melody of music is something spontaneous in her being. Her father Mobarak Hossain Khan is also a former Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (National Academy of fine and performing arts), and the Chairman of the Trustee Board of Nazrul Institute, under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Government of Bangladesh.
