Dude, come on. If you actually played FFXI for an extended period of time, you know that's BS. I've watched a TON of videos of FFXIV and they're so similar to FFXI it's ridiculous. The "aesthetic feel" is there because the zones are designed to be exactly the same, the FFXIV ones just have better graphics.

I'm not saying ALL the content is ripped from FFXI, I'm saying that it sure looks like the vast majority of it is. Even the enemies look the damn same, just reskinned.

@Effedup No, they didn't. The races are about the extent of the carbon copying from XI, and even then several of them were tweaked in appearance. None of the zones are remotely like XI's aside from maybe the overall aesthetic feel, but even then they are rather drastically different. FFXIV is most certainly not FFXI-2 with better graphics, despite how much most of the player base probably wants it to be... and God do I hope it never is.

Did they seriously just remake FFXI and call it a new game or what? Because every fucking FFXIV video I see looks like FFXI with better graphics. The races are all obviously a direct copy, the zones are pretty much a direct copy, you're in New Jeuno in this vid, I just got done watching videos in New Windurst, New Buburimu, and New La Thiene, they even ported over the freaking Battering Ram NM...

They should have just done a reskin of FFXI and called it FFXI-2 or something.
