I agree, jmh2277, that this version captures more of the murk and distance suggested by the lyrics. And the dim, amber colors of the video certainly evoke a sense of being between the sun and moon. But the clarity and quicker pace of the LP version reveal a yearning and urgency in Sparhawk's voice that are muddled in the video. Anyone who's loved and lost will feel both his innocent, nostalgic longing and his sorrowful resignation to a life without the beautiful chime of that bell.

I actually prefer this "Songs For a Dead Pilot" EP version over the more clarified "Secret Name" LP version...The murk, depth, and distance of this version leaves enough for the melody to just emerge, and the effect is apparitional...Haunting
